This Privacy Policy describes how Duezy (also referred to as "OweTracker", "the App"), developed by Sefa Cem Turan, handles your information when you use the mobile application.

We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it. Duezy is designed with a privacy-first, local-only architecture: your financial entries and personal data remain strictly on your device.

1. Information We Collect and Process

Duezy does not operate external user databases or require you to create an account. We do not collect, sell, or rent your personal data to third parties.

1.1 On-Device Financial & Ledger Data

When you use Duezy to track debts, credits, and shared expenses, you may create:

  • Counterparty profiles (names, optional phone numbers, avatar images)
  • Ledger transactions (amounts, transaction dates, notes, currencies, direction)
  • Recurring payment rules and quick note templates

All of this information is stored locally on your device using Apple's Core Data and UserDefaults frameworks. We have no access to your financial entries, counterparties, or notes.

1.2 Device Permissions & Features

The App may request access to certain device features to enhance your experience. These permissions are entirely optional:

  • Contacts (NSContactsUsageDescription): If granted, the App allows you to quickly import or link counterparties from your device's address book (such as name, phone number, and thumbnail photo). Your contacts are processed exclusively on your device and are never uploaded, synced, or shared with external servers.
  • Camera (NSCameraUsageDescription): If granted, the App allows you to capture a photo to set as an avatar for a counterparty or your own user profile. Photos taken are processed and stored locally on your device.
  • Photo Library: If you select an existing picture for a profile avatar via the system photo picker, the image is cropped, normalized, and saved locally on-device.
  • Local Notifications: The App may request permission to send local reminder notifications for upcoming or overdue payments. These notifications are scheduled and delivered locally by iOS; no external push notification server is involved.

1.3 Account and Analytics

  • No User Accounts: You do not need to register, log in, or provide an email address to use the App.
  • No Analytics Tracking: We do not integrate third-party analytics SDKs (such as Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, or TelemetryDeck) to track your in-app behavior.
  • No Advertising: Duezy contains no advertising SDKs (such as Google AdMob) and does not track you across apps or websites for marketing purposes.

2. Network Requests and Third-Party Services

Duezy interacts with third-party services only for essential app functionalities:

2.1 Currency Exchange Rates (Frankfurter API)

To provide multi-currency balance conversion on your dashboard, Duezy fetches public foreign exchange rates from the open-source Frankfurter API (https://api.frankfurter.dev).

  • Data Transmitted: Only standard currency ISO codes (such as USD, EUR, TRY) are sent in the API request.
  • No Personal Data: No transaction amounts, personal identifiers, notes, or counterparty information are ever transmitted.
  • Fetched exchange rates are cached locally on your device.

2.2 In-App Purchases (Apple StoreKit)

Duezy offers optional subscriptions and lifetime access (Duezy Pro).

  • All transactions and billing are processed securely through Apple's App Store (StoreKit 2).
  • We do not collect, process, or store your credit card details, bank information, or billing address.

2.3 Country Flag Assets (FlagCDN)

To display country flags corresponding to currency codes, the App loads static flag images from flagcdn.com. No personal information is shared during these asset requests.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, or Turkey (KVKK), our processing is based on:

  • Contract Performance: To provide the core functionality of the App as requested by you.
  • Consent: For optional device permissions (Contacts, Camera, Notifications), which you can grant, deny, or revoke at any time via your iOS Settings.
  • Legitimate Interest: To maintain app stability and verify active in-app purchase entitlements via Apple.

4. Data Storage and Retention

Because Duezy does not maintain external servers or user accounts:

  • All data remains on your physical device under your control.
  • Your data is retained until you manually delete entries within the App or uninstall the App from your device.
  • Deleting the App will permanently remove all locally stored ledger records, photos, and preferences.

5. Security

The security of your data relies on your device's built-in iOS security mechanisms (such as hardware encryption, Secure Enclave, Face ID / Touch ID, and device passcodes). Because your data is never uploaded to remote servers, the risk of external data breaches is minimized.

6. Children's Privacy

Duezy does not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age in your jurisdiction). Because the App does not collect personal information or maintain user accounts, it is safe for general audiences.

7. Your Rights

Under applicable data protection laws (such as GDPR, CCPA, and KVKK), you have rights regarding your personal data:

  • Access & Correction: You can view and edit all your ledger entries, counterparties, and profile details directly within the App.
  • Deletion: You can delete individual entries or clear all app data by uninstalling Duezy.
  • Revoke Permissions: You can revoke Contacts, Camera, or Notification permissions at any time through your iOS Device Settings (Settings > Duezy).
